Sitting at an altitude of 12,000 feet (3656 mts) above sea level, Gulabi Kantha is a breathtakingly beautiful meadow covered with rhododendron flowers rendering the place its name. Gulabi Kantha is situated in Uttarakhand and sits in the lap of the majestic mountains like Kalindi Sirkala, Bandrapoonch, Shivalik, and Chaukhamba giving it a panoramic view of the mountains as far as one can see. The trek is an uncommon one but filled with adventure, serving some surreal sunrise and sunsets.

START

Dehradun to BarkotDAY 1

Dehradun to Barkot

Our first day would start with a drive of 137 km from Dehradun to town of Barkot located on the banks of Yamuna River. This drive is enriched with beautiful lush green views of the mountains and the Yamuna River surrounded by alpine forests. A drive through this route is going to gives a great start to the journey while building up the excitement for what is next to come. After a drive of 4-5 hours, we reach the town of Barkot and will have our first stop at Camp Veda. A luxury camp located near the banks of river Yamuna surrounded by lush green forests. This will be an ideal place to just unwind, relax and prepare for the trek. The stay also ensures that everyone gets acclimatized to the weather.

Hanuman Chatti to Seema thatchDAY 2

Hanuman Chatti to Seema thatch

3 AM would be the wake-up call for the second day to ensure driving out to for Hanuman Chatti at 4 AM. We reach Hanuman Chatti by 5.30 Am and prepare for a 10 Km long trek to Seema Thatch. This trek would take us through an enchantingly beautiful trail with steep ascents at some places. A beautiful sunrise would also accompany the trek. The trek between alpine forests and wildflowers will make a much more exciting one to walk through. Trekkers will reach Seema Thatch and refreshments will be served there accompanies by a gorgeous sunset. The night would be spent in camps there itself to ensure ample rest for the trek next day.

Seema Thatch to Gulabi KanthaDAY 3

Seema Thatch to Gulabi Kantha

This would be the most important day of the trek. The trek will start by 5:30 AM towards Gulabi Kantha. The trek would be 5 km long hike and we should reach by 1:30 PM. We will get time for lunch here. The trail would be filled with the views of lush green meadows and undulating valleys. In this trek one can witness the exalted snow clapped peaks of Bandarpoonch, Shivaliks, Kalindi Srikala and Chaukhamba. After spending some time here while resting and enjoying the views, we will head back to the campsite.

Dinner shall be served back at the campsite in Seema Thatch. This would be followed with some bonfire and music session.

Seema Thatch to Hanuman ChattiDAY 4

Seema Thatch to Hanuman Chatti

This is a 10 km trek which would take around 7-8 hours to complete. Refreshments would be served at one pit stop in the trek and lunch would also be served during this trek towards Hanuman Chatti. The trek would almost end here and we will drive back to Barkot the same day and stay the night at Camp Veda. Dinner would be served at Camp Veda.

Drive Back to Dehradun

This would be the day where you bid goodbye to this 5 day long journey with us. We will drive towards Dehradun on day 5. The journey back would be all about relaxing and reminiscing the memories of this trek, the views, the bonds you made and how pleasant you felt
